Not to overstate the obvious, BUT...

...sound would REALLY help here. Graphically it was well above the usual NG fare, something you should be proud of. But it really, truely and DESPERATELY need some sound.

Pwapapapaaaaaaaa!

I love that song. Dunno why, really. For anyone who cares, the lyrics are:

Chu chu ro-ke-to! Nezumi o tasukeru!
(Chu Chu Rocket! Save the mice!)
Chu chu ro-ke-to! Neko wa kowai!
(Chu Chu Rocket! Cats are scary!)
Chu chu ro-ke-to! Ro-ke-to Sugo-i!
(Chu Chu Rocket! Rockets are amazing!)
Pa pa pa pa pa puaaaaaaa!
(sound of rocket taking off)

Good stuff!

Kinda reminds me of my "Tales of Conspiracy" series (shameless plug)

Suggestions....

For a first work, this isn't bad. You actually drew characters as opposed to stick men, and drew backgrounds and attempted sound. All very good for a beginner. I suggest in future you try to work on timing, the arrow was far too slow moving. You also need more angles and more action. Basically you need more drawings. Welcome to the wonderful world of FLASH....

incanus responds:

Thank you for your suggestions... I was thinking the same thing about the arrow being so slow, so, last night, I fixed it, and just uploaded an updated file, that should run a lot smoother, and be a bit funnier. :) I don't really like the stick-men thing, don't get me wrong, some of the animations with stick men are pretty cool, but I prefer using real characters with faces and accessories, if you know what I mean. I am receiving a lot of good reviews on this, so I believe I am going to keep on and expand this series. Perhaps I'll get better as I go along. :)

Thanks for your time,
Incanus the Grey

My two centavos....

I don't really mind that you used trace-offs of other characters in order to fill out your cast, but you could have at LEAST changed their hair colours! 3D is okay, but the file size it takes up makes it completely not worth it (I speak from personal experience). Keep 'em comin' though!

Nanashi responds:

^^This would be an example of a good review. Helpfull. But please be sure to give suggestions on what to do about whats rong. I would love to drawl all of my animation but drawling with a mouse is different form that of a pen. I am saving to get a CAD/drafting pen to hook up on my computer and drawl with. But untill then I must rely on other forms of creation.

An interesting take....

Your visualisation of the Goons is interesting. I think you've missed out on one of the cructial elements of Milligan's (or anyone's, for that matter) sense of humour though, namely TIMING. You took to long to lay the gag out. It's a pity really...most NG viewers are no doubt too young to have any inclination as to who these people are (or least who they're SUPPOSED to be) Never-the-less I commend your efforts. I have most of the series on tape, it's brilliant! The episode you chose is particularily good. That whole bit with the binoculars put me on the floor!

JamesTCT responds:

Thanks... I realise now that the timing was a little off, especially so if you are running a slow machine. I just didnt want the sound to run into the next bit . Anyway, I have reuploaded an updated version of the file which should have better timing. Again, if you are running a slow computer, switch to Lo Quality.

Interesting....

I'm not exactly sure how this is a response...or is indeed related to my film in anyway. However, I'm still very interested to see where it's going. Finish it.

We can dance!

Everybody look at your hands!

Clock-tacular!

El movie fabuloso! I was slightly disappointed that the clocktron force did not form the blazing sword (pendulum?) to strike out at crow clock. If only all clock movies were of this caliber...One question; has Strawberry Clock been deified? Is he now "the king of kings of the portal"?

fourchinnigan responds:

I wanted to have a blazing sword, but I got lazy. I wanted to finish today and not take an extra day making it extra spectacular. Glad, you noticed the nod to Voltron and didn't think it was Power Rangers.

Unique

The most original portal entry I've seen in months! Simple, funny and effective. My only real criticism: Whenever you present a conversation in film, the speakers should always face each other (eg >< not <<)You need to flip the photos of the Agent to make it look proper. Otherwise great!

Six years on and now I barely use FLASH for anything other than work...
